There are various attacks 2 of them being normal attack and charged attack.
Normal attacks are generated by tapping your attack button/trigger.
Example of Kamisato Ayaka:
Charged attacks happen after normal attacks even without tapping the attack button/trigger, to acitvate charge attacks you hold the attack button.
